Did you change all the entries in the database to the new url?

I did that for wordpress mysql database like this ("migrate wordpress"):
- save database via phpmyadmin to a database.sql file
- open sql file with a text editor and search&replace old url to new url
- delete old database via phpmyadmin and upload new generated sqll file.
should be the same with hubzilla database - both are mysql.
hope that helps.

If you change the baseurl in the config file - it should be detected and most of the database tables will automatically be converted to the new name. I say "most" only because there are some weird ones like the front page setting that you might have manually set to a full URL rather than a fragment. But we tried real hard to make sure everything works if you do a site rename.
There's a chance this can break if you somehow ended up with the baseurl being stored in the DB.
You can check this by viewing util/config system.baseurl
If this shows the wrong one wrong, change it by invoking
util/config system.baseurl
https://my/new/url
If it's correct or blank, leave it alone.

After a quick review it appears that the site rename functions don't fix app links. The function was written long before we had apps and apparently nobody has used it in a long time. I'm pushing a fix now.

That could be difficult. The easiest way by far is to use SQL and
delete from app where app_system = 1
and then let the apps repopulate. You will lose any app customisations or personal installed apps beyond the base system apps.
If you have lots of app customisation, you might be better off pulling the dev branch once the patch is merged and then set your .htconfig back to the old name (this is important), then reload a page on your site to trigger the site rename function, and then set it to the new name and reload a page on your site to reset it back again.
Then you can switch back to master.
